How do you rate STEP?

Helen Swire, News Editor at STEP, reports on the results of the 2021 Your Opinion Matters survey
CPD

The results of STEP’s 2021 Your Opinion Matters survey are now in, giving us the chance to see what our members value, how non‑members perceive STEP and what we can improve on to continue to ensure our offering engages and meets the needs of our members.

Unlike previous research, this survey included both members and non‑members. We recorded an excellent selection of feedback, with a total of 1,363 responses (1,154 members and 209 non‑members), providing a diverse and representative sample of views.

How do you rate your membership?

The response to the survey represents a 99 per cent confidence level as a reflection of member views. The vast majority (87 per cent) of members rated their membership as excellent or good, and the survey found that we have an incredibly strong Net Promoter Score at +54. This means that a high number of our members would actively recommend STEP: this is fantastic, and it is great to have such engaged and enthusiastic members who really believe in what we do.

Having relaunched our Vision, Mission and Values in 2020, it was inspiring to see that members think we are progressing well in our mission and that there is a strong correlation between perceived membership value and STEP’s five key mission elements.

What do you particularly like about STEP?

So, what do members particularly value? Our dedication to setting and upholding high standards shone through for respondents, with 85 per cent agreeing that STEP membership demonstrates their commitment to professional standards and inspires confidence in the clients they work with.
