Sarah Manuel and Megan Jones explore the STEP CPD landscape

STEP has updated its continuing professional development (CPD) policy and supporting documentation, ensuring it remains fit for purpose for both STEP and our members, as we prepare for the forthcoming annual STEP CPD Audit.

What is CPD?

CPD may be known by a range of names in different jurisdictions and forums. Common terms include ‘ongoing competence’, ‘continual learning’ and ‘continuing education’. STEP has chosen continuing professional development, which is widely used and understood across many parts of the world. CPD is at the very core of what STEP does. Our mission and values champion education and continuous learning, which is reaffirmed within our business strategy that places the maintenance of professional standards at the heart of excelling in education.

Any activity that enhances your skills and knowledge counts as CPD, whether provided by STEP or any other training provider. You can also count any CPD that you do for your employer, a regulator or another professional body towards your STEP CPD, as long as it is relevant to your role in trusts and estates.
