Introducing… the STEP PCAs 2023/24 charity partner

Alzheimer’s Disease International is the new charity partner for the STEP Private Client Awards

Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) is honoured to partner with the STEP Private Client Awards (PCAs). Every three years, STEP chooses a new charity partner to benefit from the PCAs entry donations and money raised at the awards ceremony. We look forward to collaborating with STEP to strengthen the global voice for people living with dementia worldwide.

Dementia is recognised as one of the most significant health crises of the 21st century. It is a condition that is little understood, and the stigmatisation and misinformation that surround dementia remain a global problem. Every three seconds, someone in the world develops dementia, and there are currently over 55 million people living with the condition.

ADI was established in 1984 by the then four largest national Alzheimer associations to be the global voice for dementia and negotiate with the UN and the World Health Organization (WHO). We have grown to be the global federation of Alzheimer and dementia associations in 120 countries and have official relations with the WHO. We strive to focus attention on dementia, maintain it as a public health priority, campaign for better policy from governments and encourage investment and innovation in dementia research. Our vision is risk reduction, timely diagnosis, care and inclusion today, and a cure for tomorrow.

Education at the heart of our work

ADI strives to educate three key groups: governments, the public and our members. Every donation will help us promote education and awareness of dementia and drive positive change.

Educating the public

Every September, ADI hosts World Alzheimer’s Month to raise awareness of dementia globally. The campaign is incredibly influential in increasing understanding and awareness and challenging the stigma associated with this disease. This year’s theme will focus on risk reduction. With 139 million people estimated to be living with dementia by 2050, it is critical to know and understand the lifestyle choices we can make to reduce the risk.
